Will For War

First of all, invading Iraq was the right course of action. In this war against Islamic extremists the United States must ignore all boundaries and borders drawn on the map of the Middle East.

Second, President Bush could win this war with the absolute minimum of casualties. If he would unleash the full force of the U.S. military we could occupy Kabul and Baghdad with only hundreds of casualties, perhaps dozens, instead of thousands. Unfortunately, the president has decided to fight a politically correct battle which is no way to win a war.

I have two words for you, Mr. President - martial law. It should've been declared immediately after the fall of Baghdad but it wasn't because the administration was worried about hurting the feelings of some insignificant clerics in Cairo and Mecca. All the Imams in the Middle East aren't worth the life of a single U.S. soldier. Declare martial law and inform the good people of Iraq that curfew begins at sundown and all U.S. soldiers will leave their country when not a single U.S. soldier leaves in a body bag. Until then, enjoy your occupation.

I can't blame President Bush, however. Blame lies at the feet of liberal Democrats in Congress who, plain and simple, are doing everything within their power to cause America to lose this war. Whether it was giving Saddam hope and optimism to stay in power or providing aid and comfort to the insurgents in Iraq, Democrats have been one of America's worst enemies since 9/11 second only to the Islamic terrorists. From Abu Ghraib to Guantanamo Bay, Democrats have tried to hamstring our troops in an attempt to damage the country then turn around and fault President Bush for the problems they caused.

In the upcoming election voters seem poised to reward the cowardly Democrats for their hypocrisy and by doing so will reward the terrorists. Both the Democrats and the Islamic terrorists are counting on the inability of Americans to remember the past when, after 9/11, we all vowed to never forget.
